Boeing's CST-100 Starliner commercial crew spacecraft,
aims to dock with the International Space Station (ISS).
The Starliner is carrying a crew of three NASA astronauts, who will spend six months living and working on the ISS. The mission is a major milestone for Boeing and NASA, as it is the first time that a commercial spacecraft has docked with the ISS with a crew on board.
The Starliner launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida, on December 20, 2019. After a successful launch, the spacecraft entered orbit and began its journey to the ISS. The docking is scheduled to take place on December 22, 2019.
The mission is a major step forward in the development of commercial crew transportation. NASA has awarded Boeing and SpaceX contracts to develop commercial crew spacecraft to transport astronauts to and from the ISS. The Starliner is expected to be operational in 2023.
